As Halloween is fast-approaching, we often hear talk of superstitions. As much as intellectually we know they are not factual, they can still permeate into our psych and spirit. Even in Christian culture we talk of God striking people down with lightening, say phrases like knock on wood.. this is a view simply not just held by pagans, but is mainstream in our society.
Is this a big deal? For most people probably not. However for some this can translate into living a life of paranoia and having not a fear of God in a reverent sense, but in a paranoid and terrifying way. God is a loving yet just God, but NOT a terrorist.
We do not need to be superstitious because God ultimately controls the universe... these man-created customs and omens are not of God and therefore are not true.
"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority" Colossians 2:8-`0
